We Say Goodbye to a Family Pillar

This time we are writing a post to share some sad news. Last August 27th, Mom passed away at the age of 59.

Paquita, as everyone knew her, was usually seen behind the counter: attending to customers with kindness, always with a smile. She was a strong, brave woman with character who fought for 13 years against an illness that finally defeated her.

We have lost a very important family pillar, but also an essential component for the Winery, as she has been at the foot of the canyon for years to carry out our family project.

The mother arrived in Vilella Baixa more than 30 years ago, quickly became familiar with the town and married the father. The two of them together continued the family business and, with effort and dedication, made it grow.

Her loss is a heavy blow, but her memory and courage force us to move forward, she was and will be part of the essence of our Celler Sabaté.
